How we deal with people who return from terrorist groups – not just those who have travelled to ISIS but also those who have joined right-wing groups in, for instance, Ukraine – is crucial to our own safety, says Dan-Erik Andersson, one of the people behind a new national contract education course on violent extremism. New aspects of the Israel-Palestine conflict

Few conflicts today seem as difficult to resolve as the one between Israel and Palestine – a conflict concerning territory, religion and historical claims reaching back a thousand years. The recent violence between Israel and Hamas, the infected question of Jerusalem’s status and an increasing separation between the populations make the journey towards peace seem particularly long.

With standard transistors approaching the limit for how small they can be, having more functions on the same number of units becomes increasingly important in enabling the development of small, energy-efficient circuits for improved memory and more powerful computers. Researchers at Lund

In May, the Development Research School’s third course was carried out. In contrast to previous courses, which were either all onsite or all online, this course was a hybrid of both.
