Symposium on Speech Processing

Speech processing comprises how listeners perceive the sounds that make up spoken language, how they comprehend the meaning, and how they respond to it verbally. Latest progress in bioimaging and computational technologies has situated natural speech processing as one of the main areas of research that bridge STEM and cognitive sciences, with growing implications for scientific, clinical and societal development.

We are glad to welcome all interested academic professionals and students to this interdisciplinary symposium where recent advancements in auditory perception of humans and non-human primates, physiological and predictive aspects of speech perception, speech-motor coupling, and individual variation will be discussed.

Invited speakers:

Dr. M. Florencia Assaneo (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, Institute for Neurobiology)
Prof. Yale E. Cohen (University of Pennsylvania, Hearing Sciences Center)
Prof. Mikael Roll (Lund University, Neurolinguistics Group)
Dr. Pelle Söderström (Western Sydney University & MARCS Institute for Brain, Behaviour and Development)
