The Pufendorf Institute is a cross-disciplinary research institute,
inaugurated at Lund University in 2009. The institute is located in a 19th
century building which until 2008 hosted the Department of Classical
Philology and the Museum of Antiquities. Across the road from this location
is the former Romance Department which nowadays is private property.
The Institute is named after Samuel von Pufendorf (1632-1694) who was one
of the first professors appointed in Lund.
