The effects of fabric parameters on paper sheet solids content during vacuum dewatering of low grammage sheets was studied by lab. equipment for 10 different forming fabrics. Caliper, void vol., and air permeability that control the capacity of the fabric to enclose water within the fabric were shown to have a great impact on the dewatering of the sheet.
