Augmented Reality in Surveillance Systems

Projektet är uThe aim with this thesis is to investigate the possibilities to use Augmented Reality (AR) in surveillance systems. The thesis will examine ideas suited for network based cameras but also other devices such as a head mounted display (HMD). AR today is mainly used in smartphones as entertainment and therefore the approach to use AR in surveillance systems will cover new areas. The project will be

Combining thread‐level speculation and just‐in‐time compilation in Google's V8 JavaScript engine

Thread‐level speculation can be used to take advantage of multicore architectures for JavaScript in web applications. We extend previous studies with these main contributions; we implement thread‐level speculation in the state‐of‐the art just‐in‐time‐enabled JavaScript engine V8 and make the measurements in the Chromium web browser both from Google instead of using an interpreted JavaScript engine

Geometry-based Modeling and Simulation of 3D Multipath Propagation Channel with Realistic Spatial Characteristics

For high-resolution massive MIMO and very large antenna arrays, wireless channel models have to scrutinize the detailed space features of the surrounding environment. Existing models such as WINNER and 3GPP are not appropriate for validating and evaluating new concepts for 4G/5G as they do not consider the spatial characteristics of the real environment. The simplified 3D shapes of simulated objec

Commuting to Skåne’s Regional Centers - A Quantitative Study of Opportunities and Possible Consequences for Students

Region Skåne has designated seven regional centers in Skåne: Malmö, Lund, Helsingborg, Landskrona, Hässleholm, Kristianstad and Ystad. These centers are to be, among other things, providers of key services. The aim of this thesis is to examine whether Skåne’s students have equal opportunity, through public transport, to benefit from the regional centers’ provision of gymnasiumlevel education. This

Dagens utmaning äThe Swedish apartment building stock from 1945-1975 is reaching the end of its technical life span. Renovations and energy efficiency measures are needed to reduce energy use and enable continued usage of the buildings in the future and still provide affordable housing to socioeconomic vulnerable groups. The problem today is that some building features, which are needed to estimate the renovation

Tidigare forskning visar Travel time variability in bus traffic creates uncertainty for both passengers and operators. For passengers, unpredictable travel times complicate trip planning and transfers, while operators face reduced timetable reliability and increased costs from larger schedule buffers. Previous research shows that passengers value reductions in travel time variation more highly than reductions in average t
