MEDIATIZATION, RELIGION, AND POLITICS

This chapter discusses how processes of mediatization shape the increasing visibility and contestation of religion in public debate. Mediatization captures the interrelated processes of change between media technologies, institutions, and practices and other parts of society and culture. The first part presents a theoretical framework for the interplay between politics and traditional news media a

Mesothelial cells promote peritoneal invasion and metastasis of ascites-derived ovarian cancer cells through spheroid formation

Patients with epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) are often diagnosed with peritoneal metastasis and ascites, the accumulation of intraperitoneal fluid containing nonmalignant cells. However, the interactions between EOC and nonmalignant cells before peritoneal metastasis remain unclear. To investigate this, whole EOC spheroids were observed using a multiphoton microscope, and their invasion ability w

How female victim-survivors of the armed conflict in Colombia are influencing peacebuilding - A semi-structured qualitative interview study of female victim-survivors of the armed conflict in Colombia and a content analysis of the Peace Agreement

Denna forskning syftar till att undersöka hur kvinnliga offer som överlevt den väpnade konflikten i Colombia påverkar fredsbyggande2016 was historic for Colombia since it put an official end to the fifty-two year long armed conflict. The peace was agreed when the Final Peace Agreement was signed by the two major actors, Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias and the Colombian Government. This research aims to investigate how female victims-survivors of the armed conflict in Colombia are influencing peacebuilding. The investigation f

Psychometric properties of the occupational value with pre-defined items in stroke patients

Background: In stroke rehabilitation, instruments assessing the value individuals attribute to everyday activities are vital. The Occupational Value with pre-defined items (OVal-pd) questionnaire was devised for this purpose. Aim: To evaluate the psychometric properties of the Swedish OVal-pd—floor and ceiling effects, internal consistency, construct validity, responsiveness, long-term stability,

Severe Neck and Low Back Pain Predicts Severe Pain 5 Years Later in Older Men : A Cohort Study

Purpose: To describe the prevalence of neck pain (NP) and low back pain (LBP) of varying severity in older community-dwelling men, identify associated factors, and evaluate whether prevalent NP/LBP are risk factors for experiencing pain 5 years later. Patients and Methods: MrOS Sweden is a prospective observational study that included 3014 community-dwelling men aged 69–81 years, of whom 1962 atte

A Multimodal Lens on Protein Assembly : From Silk to Seeds

Protein-based materials rely on controlled assembly across multiple lengthscales. Key organisational features often emerge before macroscopic fibres orgels form. Yet the pathways linking molecular organisation to material formationremain poorly resolved. This is partly because structural evolution across lengthscales is rarely measured concurrently within the same sample. This thesis examines prote

Examining Sleep-Related Problems in Youth With Misophonia

The relationship between misophonia and sleep-related problems (SRPs) in youth is underexplored. This paucity of research is concerning because SRPs might be elevated among youth with misophonia. If left untreated, SRPs can contribute to long-term health consequences. Thus, in this study we examined the link between misophonia and SRPs in youth aged 8 to 17. In this study, we compared SRPs in 102

Regional differences and similarities for traditional and demand-responsive public transport preferences : evidence from Sweden

Understanding regional variation in public transport preferences is essential for designing efficient mobility systems. This study examines the stability of preferences for both traditional public transport and demand-responsive transport across three Swedish regions–Stockholm (urban), Skåne (intermediate), and Värmland (rural)–using discrete choice experiments. The analysis focuses on key service

The Influence of Noise Perception and Parent-Rated Developmental Characteristics on White Noise Benefits in Children

White noise has been proposed to enhance cognitive performance in children with ADHD, but findings are inconsistent, and benefits vary across tasks and individuals. Such variability suggests that diagnostic comparisons may overlook meaningful developmental differences. This exploratory study examined whether developmental characteristics and subjective evaluations of auditory and visual white nois

Model for baryon production in spin-dependent string fragmentation

We introduce spin-1/2 baryons in the string + 3P0 model of hadronization, previously restricted to the production of pseudoscalar and vector mesons. Baryons are modeled as quark–diquark bound states, and baryon production is described by the tunneling of diquark–antidiquark pairs at string breaking points. Diquarks can be scalar or pseudovector, the latter being produced in the relative 5D0 state.

Molecular dynamics in the stratum corneum of plantar heels in atopic dermatitis patients

The skin acts as an effective barrier against the uptake of hazardous chemicals and microorganisms as well as prevention of extensive water loss. These barrier functions are mainly assured by the outermost layer of the skin, the stratum corneum (SC). In conditions such as atopic dermatitis (AD)-a chronic inflammatory skin disease-these barrier functions can become impaired. Although AD is driven b

Application of optimization techniques in the dairy supply chain : a systematic review

Background: The global dairy market is experiencing a massive transition as dairy farming has recently undergone modernization. As a result, the dairy industry needs to improve its operational efficiencies by implementing effective optimization techniques. Conventional and emerging optimization techniques have already gained momentum in the dairy industry. This study’s objective was to explore the

The justice/participation paradox : Rebel-to-party provisions and the dual performativity of confession and political authority

This study introduces the novel concept of the justice/participation paradox to post-conflict peace and justice literature. The 2016 peace agreement between the Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) formalised a solution to the peace-versus-justice dilemma: allocating congressional seats to FARC while ensuring legal accountability through the Special Jurisdicti

Digital interoperability and transformation using industry 4.0 technologies in the dairy industry : an SLR and bibliometric analysis

Background: The dairy industry has gradually adopted cutting-edge technology in the past few years. This review explores the evolution and interventions of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Industry 4.0 in the dairy industry through a systematic literature review and bibliometric analysis. Methods: The Web of Science, Scopus, etc. databases were used for bibliometric analysi

On ‘the Central Argument’ of ‘Freedom and Resentment’ : Hieronymi, Russell, and Strawson

P. F. Strawson's 1962 essay ‘Freedom and Resentment’ has been enormously influential for the contemporary responsibility discussion. It nevertheless remains contested how the essay is to be understood, and what the central argument is, if there even is any such. In her recent book Freedom, Resentment, and the Metaphysics of Morals (2020), Pamela Hieronymi argues that what is, in fact, the central
