En forskargrupp vid Lunds universitet har identifierat en ny mekanism som kopplar metabolismen av RNA, ribonukleinsyra, till utvecklingen av leukemi hos patienter med blodsjukdomen myelodysplastiskt syndrom, MDS. En vanlig tarmbakterie vi alla bär på gynnas när tarmfloran slås ut av en antibiotikabehandling. Eftersom bakterien är resistent och smittsam orsakar den problem, särskilt inom sjukvården.
