Mjukdelssarkom utgör en heterogen grupp av ovanliga tumörer och innefattar ett 50-tal olika subtyper med varierande klinisk bild och prognos. Två tredjedelar är höggradigt maligna tumörer och en tredjedel av patienterna avlider i tumörsjukdom. I Södra sjukvårdsregion är vården av patienter med sarkom centraliserad till SUS/Lund. Sarkomgruppen i Lund utreder och behandlar patienter med sarkom och Soft tissue sarcomas constitute a heterogeneous group of rare tumours with some 50 histopathologic types with different clinical characteristics and prognosis.
