Pediatric transplantation in Europe during the COVID-19 pandemic : Early impact on activity and healthcare

The current pandemic SARS-CoV-2 has required an unusual allocation of resources that can negatively impact chronically ill patients and high-complexity procedures. Across the European Reference Network on Pediatric Transplantation (ERN TransplantChild), we conducted a survey to investigate the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on pediatric transplant activity and healthcare practices in both solid o

Antihistamine use and osteoarthritis or joint pain

Objectives: Antihistamines have been reported to be linked with less pain in osteoarthritis. We aimed to estimate associations between antihistamine use and three outcomes: prevalent osteoarthritis, current joint pain, and developing osteoarthritis. Methods: We included 25 003 participants of EpiHealth – a cohort of persons aged 45 to 75 from Malmö/Uppsala in Sweden. Participants self-reported the

Cost-Benefit Analysis in Healthcare

Background: Gesture control represents a new paradigm in Human-Computer-Interaction, with an interesting use case in hygienic hospital settings; as it would allow staff to control computers without risking cross-contamination. Even though this has evident advantages, hospitals are increasingly emphasizing monetary gains in investment decisions; which in the case of gesture control is not that easy

Selective Quantification of Co-Eluting Proteins by Means of Partial Least Squares

Eftersom de nämnda proteinerna inte sameluerar i ett neuturalt pH-värde utfördThe aim of this thesis is to create a model of the correlation between absorbance and concentration of co-eluting proteins. A separation using the chromatograph system ÄKTA from GE-Health care of BSA,Lysozyme and IgG was performed. Absorbance was measured at three different wave lengths. Since the mentioned proteins do not co-elute in a neutral pH the experiments were performed at a high pH-level
